Although, Eleanor was raised in a wealthy nominatehold her entire childhood, she never have the appearance _or_ semblance to fully accept it. She made companions with the servants in her grandmother house where she slept in a tiny room, and her younger brother had to take his bed with his nurse. These situations made it easier for Eleanor to relate to non only the financial needs of the poor during her projects with the New Deal, but also with their worked up needs as well. Her dumbfound played a major role in the way she later treated blacks and laborers. Eleanor did not know him as an adulterer, a drunkard, a problem. He was just her father (40). From a young age, she began to look past the flaws of her father and love him for who he was to her.

As an adult, she looked past the color of a persons skin, the houses the lived in, and the background from which they came. She treated people of all in all walks of live with the same respect. Eleanor underwent more deviationes in a life time than anyone should every have to deal with. She suffered the loss of her parents at a young age. To cope with this loss, she tried to create a mother figure to her younger brother, Hall. This event leads to her cosmos an orphan in her grandmothers house. She went from a life of love and luxury to a life of being unsuitable and out of place. She found comfort for the first time since her parents deaths when she was move away to school.
