Ron Miller describes holistic education as an intrinsic idolatry for life and a passionate love of learning. In Wordsworths poem, we see this expressed in the notion of the Child macrocosm father of the Man; the poem is a hope that we never lose our childhood gift of wonder and connectedness to all things. Children certainly begin with a holistic sense of life and learning. The children I have taught, especially those under the age of 6 do indeed have a joyful cultism for life and a passionate love of learning. They have an immortal desire to know, to understand, to tinker with the world around them to figure stunned how things work. They have an innate ability to sense the energy and emotions that vortex around them and respond with natural sensitivity that many a CEO spending thousands of dollars on soft-skills training would envy.
