What is truth?
Truth has many definitions, based on this it is well-situated for me to see why there could be differing views on the call for meaning of truth. The Sophists believed that truth was relative, while Socrates believed that a person could fall apart the truth through reason. I am not indisputable along which of these trains of thoughts I would agree with, mainly because there ar veritable things that I believe to be truths. Such as that if I flip a light switch that lights leave come on, but that is not al ways the case if you give to pay your electric bill they would no longer tag on electricity to your home and so then when you turn on the switch nothing would happen.
When I really look at some of the definitions of the word truth I am touch by how they differ. The first definition of truth I run aground states, the true or actual state of a matter, so this pertains to finding out the truth in a certain situation. The second definition states conformity with fact or reality, this government agency to me that we believe what we are told as being the truth. While til now another defines it a verified or indisputable fact, proposition, or principle, in my mind this would apply to the scientific world.
The Sophists believed that truth is relative, they believed that youre your cultural surroundings and up bringing would directly concern your perceptions of the truth along with the way you see the world somewhat you. They felt that we need only accept what according to our polish seems true at that moment. Some Sophist went as distant as to say that even within the same market-gardening; individuals would have their own versions of the truth. They taught that each culture only believes that their ways are the best ways, but that a person who is culturally diverse knows better.
