Jay Miller is 45 years older and he has spent the majority of his life in Scioto County and he has no plans to relocate. Mr. Millers lifes competition is to attain a coaching position at a local school, give himself wholeheartedly to that school for twenty years, and have it away as a living role model going a legacy of coaching for others to follow.
His experience is impressive with quartette Southern Ohio Conference championships and three undefeated seasons to his credit as a varsity assistant coach at Portsmouth easternmost and Franklin Furnace Green High Schools. He served several years for jr. Varsity head coach and seventh and eighth account head coach as well.
During this time he as well as worked as a sportswriter for the Portsmouth Daily Times. Therefore, he understands all of the complexities of coaching football, but he also recognizes the importance of peremptory public and media relations.
As I talk to him in the tempestuous classroom, that smells like cinnamon most of the time, he keeps going on and on about coaching.
