Boris had bought seven flowers on his way to the cemetery, so he left(p) four flowers on one of the gravestones and three flowers on the other one; he thought to himself that if he had left more than flowers on the wrong gravestone, it would be a consolation to that unusual lying there. When Boris left Russia and came back to New York, he went to visit his mother; she thanked Boris for visiting his grandfathers gravestone. She told Boris that when his cousin went to the cemetery, he saw Boriss flowers on the gravestone; however, Boris did not express his drool to his mother.
