Decision-Making Models 1 Running Head: DECISION-MAKING MODELS Decision-Making Models University of phoenix Decision-Making Models 2 My experience with decision-making clay sculptures is kinda extensive. Interestingly enough, I didnt know it until fairly recently. This class has helped me induce to the realization that I use a decision-making seat in some way, shape or form everyday. Whether its been through my academic, professional or personal endeavors, Ive been making decisions for the better ingredient of my life. For the purpose of this personal perspective paper Ill concentrate on the five-step decision-making process that I utilize. Subconsciously, Ive been using a five-step decision-making model for most of my adult life. The model Ive employ could be described as a simplified magnetic variation of the nine-step decision-making model introduced to me in this class. The first step in this model consists of identifying a problem. Second, I brainstorm possible solutions to the problem at hand. Third, I select a solution. Fourth, I implement my solution. Lastly, I evaluate the results of my solution. A real life example of my decision-making model in action took place recently.

When I decided that I desireed to pursue a Masters Degree in Management or Public Administration I unknowingly found myself making step one in my decision-making Decision-Making Models 3 process. I faced a clearly defined problem in that I was unsure of where I should pursue my degree? I brainstormed three solutions to my problem. During this brainstorming process I weighed the positive and ostracize aspects of each school. The cost and reputation of each school was weighed carefully, as was the convenience of attending class.
