Competency Goal 1 To establish and maintain a honest, salubrious learning environment Functional Area 1: Safe Keeping children safe and healthy at only times is my first and for more or less priority. To achieve this I follow mevery guidelines provided by NAEYC and our Center. I implement safe practices at our center by inspecting toys occasional and making trustworthy they are in ingenuous on the job(p) severalise and age appropriate for the child. I also advert sure they are checked monthly to be in good working order. We email families on the day we had a fire drill or excreting practice to let them know we had one and how it went. I update and maintain parents pinch numbers and childs instruction sheets monthly, (earlier if needed) and distribute to the correct classrooms so they can update their emergency backpacks. Because our center is in the desert, it is very important that I make sure the covers are on the sandboxes to keep out every unwanted critters or animals.

I also make sure that our center is inspected fixityly for termites, and sprayed regularly for other bugs and insects. I hence post notification of exterminations for parents and licensings knowledge. Functional Area 2: Healthy Our center provides a valuable opportunity to promote good health and nutrition practices. As a teacher and mentor, I make sure to model and encourage healthy and nutrient habits in children. I respect family customs, food preferences and of course all allergy alerts.
